San Francisco Performing Arts Center Project, Inc.

$42 million Capital Campaign

Today, Davies Symphony Hall is a San Francisco landmark and international cultural attraction. However, when D&A was invited to join the project to build the new symphony hall in 1975, the new concert hall was just a dream.

Over a period of 3 years, Christine served as General Manager of Fundraising and Administrative Programs for the Performing Arts Center project. This capital campaign raised $42 million for the construction of Davies Symphony Hall, the Zellerbach Rehearsal Hall, the Performing Arts Center Garage, and the War Memorial Opera House extension. During this engagement, Christine developed the overall fundraising strategy for the solicitation of local and national corporate, foundation and individual gifts; created and managed all advertising, public relations and direct mail campaigns; developed the computer record-keeping program to maintain and analyze all donor data; supervised the preparation of grant requests to federal agencies; and, hired and managed all staff for the campaign.
